Job Summary

GCP Senior Data Architect

 Location: Bangalore
Experience: 10+ years
Platform: Google Cloud Platform

We are looking for an experienced GCP Senior Data Architect to lead the design and modernization of enterprise-scale data platforms on Google Cloud.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Enterprise Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Lakehouse implementation and Medallion Architecture, along with the ability to provide technical leadership across complex data transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define enterprise data architecture strategies and cloud modernization roadmaps.
  • Architect scalable, secure, governed, and cost-efficient data platforms on GCP.
  • Design Enterprise Data Warehouse and Lakehouse solutions using Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
  • Lead conceptual, logical, physical, and dimensional data modeling.
  • Design facts, dimensions, conformed dimensions, star and snowflake schemas, business keys, surrogate keys, and SCD patterns.
  • Define architecture patterns for batch, streaming, near-real-time, and CDC-based data processing.
  • Optimize BigQuery solutions through effective modeling, partitioning, clustering, query optimization, and cost management.
  • Establish standards for data ingestion, transformation, quality, governance, metadata, lineage, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide technical direction to data engineers, data modelers, analytics engineers, and cloud teams.
  • Drive Git-based development, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code practices.

Skill Requirements

Required Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in data platforms, Enterprise Data Warehousing, analytics, and data integration.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or Solution Architect.
  • 3+ years of hands-on GCP data architecture experience.
  • Strong expertise in Enterprise Data Warehousing, dimensional modeling, Lakehouse, and Medallion Architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, BigLake, Dataflow, Dataproc, Dataplex, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Dataform.
  • Advanced SQL skills and a strong understanding of ETL/ELT, batch, streaming, and CDC patterns.
  • Experience modernizing or migrating legacy and on-premises data platforms to GCP.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, quality, lineage, security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, Terraform, DataOps, DevOps, and FinOps practices.
  • Excellent technical leadership, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification.
  • Experience with Data Mesh, Data Products, Data Vault, MDM, or Reference Data Management.
  • Exposure to Vertex AI and AI/ML platform integration.
