Job Summary
Job Description — Integration & Platform Engineer
Reports to: Solution Architect – Full Stack
Employment type: Full-time
Location: Offshore
Experience level: Senior — 8–12 years
Summary
Handles everything the AI-accelerated build process structurally cannot: real infrastructure, live credentials, production systems, and genuine external integrations — across two separate runtimes, the Java/Spring Boot core and the standalone Python/Node Assistant service. Where the Solution Architect directs what gets built, this role makes it actually run in production, on both sides of that service boundary.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Provision and manage cloud infrastructure (Docker, Terraform/IaC) for both the JVM core and the separate Assistant service — each with its own container/deployment profile
Own credential and secrets management across both services; enforce least-privilege access, particularly for anything touching production
Build and maintain two CI/CD pipelines — Maven/Gradle for the Java core, a separate pipeline for the Python/Node Assistant service — including the Angular frontend's build integration
Execute and validate database migrations against production PostgreSQL instances
Own the inter-service boundary: service-to-service authentication, network policy, and latency/reliability monitoring between the Java core and the Assistant service
Configure JVM-aware infrastructure: container memory limits sized for heap/GC behavior, startup/warm-up characteristics under load — distinct from tuning a Node service
Wire and maintain live integrations: ticketing/test-management systems (Jira, ADO, qTest) and the organization's AI generation engine
Configure identity/auth (OAuth2/OIDC) for both services and the enterprise identity provider
Own observability across both runtimes, including correlated distributed tracing — a request crossing from the Java core into the Assistant service needs a shared trace ID, or debugging becomes guesswork
Partner with the Solution Architect on anything generated code assumes about the runtime environment, flagging gaps before they become production incidents
Skill Requirements
Required Qualifications
5–8 years in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure-focused backend engineering
Hands-on experience with Docker, Terraform (or equivalent IaC), and at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS)
Strong background in CI/CD pipeline design and secrets/credential management — comfortable running multiple pipelines for different language runtimes in parallel
Working knowledge of JVM operational characteristics (heap/GC tuning, container sizing) alongside general container/infra skills
Experience with distributed tracing/observability across service boundaries, not just single-service logging
Experience integrating third-party enterprise systems via real APIs
Working knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC and enterprise identity provider setup
Other Requirements
Preferred
Prior experience operating a polyglot system (more than one language/runtime in production)
Prior experience in a platform supporting a regulated domain (healthcare, financial services)
Familiarity with pgvector or similar
