Job Summary

The Lead Consultant – SAP CPI (Integration Suite) is responsible for leading end-to-end integration design and delivery across SAP and non-SAP landscapes. This role ensures scalable, secure, and high-performance integrations aligned with enterprise architecture, while driving stakeholder engagement and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Design & Architecture

  • Lead the design of integration solutions using SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite
  • Define integration architecture for cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-on-premise, and hybrid scenarios
  • Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, enterprise integration patterns, and governance standards
  • Translate business requirements into high-quality technical specifications 

2. Delivery & Implementation

  • Lead development and deployment of integration flows (iFlows)
  • Implement integration scenarios using:
    • REST, SOAP, OData, IDoc, SFTP, APIs
  • Drive integration patterns including:
    • Message mapping, XSLT mapping, value mapping
  • Ensure robust exception handling and error management frameworks

3. Technical Leadership

  • Mentor and guide a team of CPI developers and consultants
  • Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and enforce quality standards
  • Provide technical leadership in complex integration scenarios and performance optimization

4. Monitoring & Support

  • Ensure proactive monitoring using:
    • Message monitoring, trace logs, artifact monitoring 
  • Drive RCA, performance tuning, and stability improvements
  • Support production issues and ensure SLA adherence

5. Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Engage with business and IT stakeholders to define integration strategy
  • Lead client discussions, solution walkthroughs, and governance calls
  • Provide effort estimation, impact analysis, and solution proposals

6. Governance & Best Practices

  • Define and enforce:
    • Integration design standards
    • Reusable frameworks and templates
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols (OAuth, API security, data protection)
  • Support audits and documentation for enterprise compliance

7. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify automation opportunities and reduce manual integration effort
  • Drive adoption of:
    • API-led architecture
    • Event-driven integration
  • Contribute to solution accelerators and reusable assets

Skill Requirements

Core Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite
  • Expertise in:
    • Integration patterns (EIP), API management, middleware architecture
  • Experience with:
    • REST, SOAP, IDoc, RFC, OData, SFTP protocols
  • Strong skills in:
    • Groovy scripting, XSLT, message transformations

Additional Technical Skills

  • Experience with SAP ECC and S/4HANA integrations
  • Knowledge of:
    • OAuth 2.0, API security, cloud integration concepts
  • Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices in integration landscape

Functional & Domain Exposure (Preferred)

  • Experience in Oil & Gas / Manufacturing / Supply Chain landscapes
  • Integration across:
    • SAP and third-party systems (Sample Manager, MES, external APIs, etc.)
