Job Summary

The Senior Technical Lead will be responsible for overseeing the Component Cost Estimation process 

  • Experience on 2 Wheelers with commodity knowledge of Castings, Plastics, Sheetmetal, Machining and Forgings
  • Manufacturing and Assembly process knowledge
  • Direct Material Cost Estimation, Process cost Calculation
  • Costing experience of commodities like Plastics, Sheetmetal, Castings, Forgings, Machining, etc.
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience is essential
  • Change request management; ability to support the buyer during the commercial discussion
  • Capacity to complete in autonomy the comparison with Cost Analysis and Supplier Offer
  • Good level of knowledge on usage of Cad 2D/3D for our activity
  • Gather inputs by supplier visits and develop cost models, Gap Analysis, Negotiation with suppliers on higher gap area and cost optimization
  • Teardown and BOM Generation, perform Benchmarking reports.
  • Post process knowledge like painting, Plating, Heat treatment, shot blasting, Anodizing and other surface coatings.
  • Process optimization and automation knowledge
  • Knowledge of detailed process cycle-time calculation for different type of processes
  • Fact pack preparation and Negotiation expertise.
  • Experience on MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel with basic macros)
  • Good knowledge of GD&T, materials
  • Costing experience on software’s like TcPCM, aPriori, Costimator, etc. will be an added advantage
  • VAVE Experience will be an added advantage




Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the component cost estimation team in utilizing boothroyd and seer galorath methodologies.
2. Analyze and estimate costs associated with various components in a project to support decision-making and cost optimization.
3. Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather necessary data and insights for accurate cost estimations.
4. Develop and maintain cost estimation models and databases for future reference and analysis.
5. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members to enhance their skills in component cost estimation.

Skill Requirements

  • Should costing modelling for part level and product level
  • Cycle time calculation with optimized process and parameters
  • Post process cycle time and cost calculation
  • Cost breakdown reports and presentations
  • Preparation of supporting documents for Negotiation.
  • Supplier plant visit for gather technical information, Negotiation etc.

Other Requirements

1.Certification in Component Cost Estimation methodologies is a plus.
