Senior Technical Lead CAD Design Skills, SolidWorks

Job Summary

  • Proven expertise in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation (GD&T) for precision orthodontic/dental components and assemblies
  • Good capability in redlining and updating 2D/3D drawings and ensuring revision control
  • Experience in process validation activities
  • Ability to translate product & system requirements into manufacturable mechanical designs for high-precision, small-scale dental products
  • Experience in tolerance stack-up analysis and BOM development or update.
  • Experience in engineering change management (ECR/ECO) with focus on drawing updates and production readiness
  • Good understanding of risk management (FMEA, ISO 14971) and regulated /medical device design practices (ISO 13485, FDA)
  • Strong collaboration with Regulatory, Manufacturing quality teams, ensuring compliance, documentation (DHF), and market launch readiness
  • Experience in building Test systems for Manufacturing line.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage technical projects involving cad design, gd&t, and solidworks.
2. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers and designers.
3. Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
4. Interpret and apply gd&t principles to optimize product design and manufacturing processes.
5. Utilize solidworks software to create, modify, and analyze engineering designs.
6. Conduct design reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions.
7. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all design activities.
8. Develop and maintain technical documentation for reference and quality assurance purposes.

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in cad design techniques and tools, with a focus on solidworks.
2. Strong understanding and application of geometric dimension & tolerancing (gd&t) principles.
3. Experience in leading technical projects and guiding a team towards successful project completion.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in design and analysis.
5. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
6. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results in a fast paced environment.

Other Requirements

1.Relevant certifications in Solidworks or GD&T are preferred.
