Lead, Data Governance
Key Responsibilities:
Governance Frameworks & Policy Enforcement
• Design, implement, and scale enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures across the DMA landscape.
• Establish and lead Data Stewardship networks, working with business domains to identify Data Owners and define Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
• Enforce rigorous compliance with GxP, HIPAA, GDPR, and internal security policies across all cloud data platforms.
Metadata & Access Management
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of enterprise Data Catalogs and Business Glossaries, ensuring clear data lineage from source systems to downstream analytics.
• Define and audit Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) matrices to ensure the principle of least privilege is applied across sensitive datasets.
• Guide the strategy for data anonymization, masking, and tokenization to enable secure data sharing for advanced analytics and research.
Stakeholder Alignment & Strategy
• Act as the primary liaison between IT compliance, legal, and the DMA engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical safeguards.
• Define and track Data Governance KPIs, presenting maturity metrics and risk assessments to senior leadership.
• Champion a culture of data literacy and accountability across the organization.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience: 8–12 years in Data Management, with a minimum of 4+ years dedicated explicitly to Data Governance, Compliance, or Data Stewardship.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Life Sciences, R&D, or Pharma industry, including strict GxP validation processes and global privacy laws.
• Tools: Proficiency with enterprise Data Cataloging and Governance tools (e.g., Informatica).
• Technical Acumen: Strong conceptual understanding of modern cloud data architectures (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS) to effectively govern data within these environments.
• Leadership Traits: Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive consensus across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
