2. To conduct comprehensive code reviews, establish and oversee quality assurance processes, performance optimization , implementation of best practices and coding standards to ensure successful delivery of complex projects.
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module| and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables and accordingly prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure & closure of escalations.

We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to manage and optimize Oracle databases that support our Appian process automation platform. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, security, and compliance of Appian’s database tier while collaborating closely with Appian developers, infrastructure, and support teams.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade and patch Oracle database environments that support Appian (development, test, staging, production).
- Provision and maintain database instances, schemas, users, roles, and security for Appian applications.
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization: SQL tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, statistics management, and memory/parameter tuning.
- Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, diagrams, and documentation for Appian database operations and recovery procedures.
Required qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Database administration experience (Oracle 12c/18c/19c/21c as applicable).
- Solid performance tuning skills: SQL execution plans, AWR/ASH reports, Statspack, Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Experience with Oracle RAC and ASM is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in writing and debugging SQL and PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of JVM application servers and how Appian connects to databases (JDBC) and connection pool tuning.
- Familiarity with Appian architecture and artifact storage requirements (preferred). If not Appian-experienced, demonstrated ability to partner with application teams and quickly ramp up.
- Experience with automation and scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar).
- Experience with Linux administration is an advantage
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
