Overview: As a PLE Dev Build Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the overall health of the build and release processes. This includes creating and managing ADO pipelines, assisting the team with build-related issues, and ensuring the smooth ingestion of software components. You will also be responsible for kicking off BVT (Build Verification Tests) from the development side. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
• Create and manage ADO pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable build processes.
• Assist team members with resolving build-related issues and provide support for software component ingestion.
• Kick off BVT from the development side, ensuring all tests are executed properly and results are documented.
• Maintain accurate records of all build and release activities, ensuring proper documentation and bookkeeping.
• Execute scripts and commands to assist the team in setup and execution of various tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and utilise various tools and resources available for build and release processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Basic knowledge of build and release processes.
• Basic IT knowledge, including connectivity and remote device setup.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills to assist team members effectively.
Preferred:
• Previous experience in build and release management.
• Familiarity with ADO pipelines and build verification tests.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in using build and release management software and tools.
o Basic understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing and subnetting.
o Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and their installation and configuration.
o Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
o Ability to monitor and analyse build and release metrics to identify and resolve issues.
