Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP EWM/MM Lead with strong hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA Extended Warehouse Management and Materials Management to lead the logistics and procurement workstream for a greenfield implementation project for a manufacturing client. The candidate will be responsible for solution design, business process mapping, configuration, integration, testing, cutover, and post-go-live support across end-to-end warehouse, inventory, procurement, and manufacturing logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the SAP EWM and MM workstream for a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation project.
Conduct requirement-gathering workshops with business stakeholders from warehouse, procurement, inventory, production, quality, logistics, and finance teams.
Design end-to-end processes for procurement, inventory management, inbound logistics, outbound logistics, warehouse operations, production staging, stock transfers, physical inventory, and goods movements.
Prepare business process design documents, fit-gap analysis, functional specifications, configuration documents, test scripts, and training materials.
Configure SAP MM processes including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, RFQs, contracts, scheduling agreements, release strategies, source determination, pricing, inventory management, GR/GI, invoice verification, subcontracting, consignment, STO, and physical inventory.
Configure SAP EWM processes including warehouse structure, storage types, storage bins, putaway, picking, packing, staging, warehouse tasks, warehouse orders, wave management, RF transactions, replenishment, physical inventory, and warehouse monitor.
Ensure strong integration between EWM/MM and SD, PP, QM, FI/CO, WM, TM, and third-party logistics or warehouse automation systems where applicable.
Support master data design and validation for material master, vendor/business partner, purchasing info records, source lists, warehouse product master, storage bins, packaging specifications, and batch/serial number management.
Lead system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, cutover planning, data migration validation, go-live, hypercare, and stabilization activities.
Provide functional leadership to consultants and coordinate with technical teams for WRICEF objects, interfaces, forms, reports, enhancements, and data migration.
Work closely with business users to drive SAP best-practice adoption and minimize custom developments.
Support change management, user training, issue resolution, and post-go-live process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Required Skills and Experience
10–12 years of overall SAP functional experience with strong expertise in SAP MM and SAP EWM.
Minimum 2 full-cycle SAP implementation projects, preferably including at least one SAP S/4HANA greenfield implementation.
Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA embedded EWM and Materials Management configuration.
Strong understanding of manufacturing industry processes including production supply, goods receipt from production, raw material staging, subcontracting, quality inspection, stock movements, batch management, and warehouse execution.
Good knowledge of SAP Activate methodology, fit-to-standard workshops, solution design, testing, cutover, and hypercare phases.
Experience in integration with SAP PP, QM, SD, FI/CO, and external warehouse or logistics systems.
Working knowledge of Fiori apps relevant to procurement, inventory, and warehouse management.
Experience in data migration, master data cleansing, and validation for MM and EWM objects.
Ability to manage client stakeholders, lead workshops, prepare documentation, and drive issue resolution independently.
Strong communication, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
SAP certification in SAP S/4HANA MM or SAP EWM is preferred.
Experience with RF devices, barcode scanning, warehouse automation, label printing, and mobile warehouse transactions.
Knowledge of interfaces using IDoc, BAPI, API, CPI/PI/PO, or other middleware tools.
Exposure to SAP Transportation Management, Yard Management, Advanced Shipping and Receiving, or 3PL integration will be an added advantage.
Experience working with global delivery teams and offshore-onshore coordination models.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline.
SAP S/4HANA implementation experience in a manufacturing environment is mandatory.
Ability to travel to client locations as required during workshops, testing, cutover, and go-live phases.
