We are seeking an experienced IBM ClearCase Lead to manage, administer, and support enterprise Software Configuration Management (SCM) environments using IBM Rational ClearCase. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in version control, build and release management, branch management, configuration management processes, and migration initiatives. The candidate will lead SCM activities, support development teams, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with software delivery standards.  Should have experience in migrating the application and data to new instance.   Should have knowledge in cleansing the data in the tool as part of the delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

ClearCase Administration & Support

• Administer and maintain IBM Rational ClearCase environments across multiple projects.
• Manage VOBs (Versioned Object Bases), Views, Storage Pools, and ClearCase Regions.
• Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting of ClearCase infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and ensure platform stability and availability.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for ClearCase repositories.

Software Configuration Management

• Define and enforce SCM processes, standards, and best practices.
• Manage source code versioning, branching, merging, labeling, and baselining activities.
• Support parallel development streams and release management activities.
• Ensure compliance with configuration management and audit requirements.
• Establish naming conventions and branching strategies.

Build & Release Management

• Coordinate build and deployment activities across development, testing, and production environments.
• Automate build and release processes wherever possible.
• Support CI/CD integrations with existing SCM tools and enterprise platforms.
• Maintain release schedules and deployment documentation.

Migration & Modernization

• Lead source code migration initiatives from ClearCase to modern SCM platforms such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Assess repository structures and define migration strategies.
• Perform repository cleanup, validation, and post-migration support.
• Develop migration plans, rollback strategies, and risk mitigation approaches.

Team Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to SCM and development teams.
• Act as primary point of contact for SCM-related issues and escalations.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and development leads.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and process training.

Skill Requirements

Required Skills

• 8+ years of overall IT experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• IBM Rational ClearCase
• ClearQuest (preferred)
• Build and Release Management
• Software Configuration Management (SCM)
• Branching and Merging Strategies
• Experience managing:
• Dynamic Views
• Snapshot Views
• VOB Administration
• MultiSite Replication
• Strong scripting knowledge using:
• Shell Script
• PowerShell
• Python
• Perl (preferred)
• Experience supporting development teams in Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, change management, and release governance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or Bitbucket.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as:
• Jenkins
• Azure DevOps Pipelines
• GitHub Actions
• Bamboo
• Experience in ClearCase-to-Git migration projects.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows administration.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
