Job Summary
The SAS Platform Administrator is responsible for designing, administering, and operating enterprise SAS environments to ensure high availability, performance, security, and compliance. This role supports business-critical analytics platforms across development, test, production, and disaster recovery environments and works closely with infrastructure, security, and data teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure overall availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise SAS platforms.
- Administer and support SAS environments across development, QA, production, and disaster recovery.
- Perform SAS software administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and license renewals.
- Provide capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimisation recommendations for SAS platforms.
- Maintain optimal platform performance, resilience, and operational stability.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement long-term remediation solutions.
- Design and enforce SAS platform security including metadata security, OS-level controls, and LDAP/Active Directory integration.
- Manage SAS metadata including users, groups, roles, permissions, libraries, and folder structures.
- Configure and maintain connectivity between SAS and relational databases or data warehouse platforms.
- Act as the SAS platform subject matter expert and primary escalation point for platform incidents.
- Coordinate with SAS Technical Support and internal IT teams to resolve complex issues.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, database, and security teams to meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Participate in on-call production support through a rotation schedule.
