Job Summary

Role Summary
The Datastage Tech Lead will define the target solution approach for upgrading the legacy DataStage estate to 11.x and align it with migration, compatibility remediation, performance validation, and future-state integration patterns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the end-to-end technical architecture for DataStage upgrade and transition.
  • Lead compatibility assessment across projects, jobs, routines, containers, stages, parameters, and external dependencies.
  • Review existing architecture and identify remediation required for deprecated stages, drivers, connection patterns, or custom code.
  • Define migration approach for export/import, configuration updates, recompilation, testing, and cutover.
  • Provide architectural guidance for environment setup, high availability, performance tuning, and operational readiness.
  • Work with administrators and developers to define migration standards, naming standards, packaging, and deployment controls.
  • Support future-state hybrid design where appropriate with ADF / Databricks integration.

Skill Requirements

  • Strong architecture experience in enterprise ETL / data integration solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of IBM DataStage architecture, environment setup, repositories, jobs, sequences, and dependencies.
  • Experience in migration planning, compatibility analysis, and production cutover design.

Other Requirements

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Azure data platform services and hybrid ETL modernisation patterns.
  • Experience in large-scale enterprise data platform transitions.
