Job Description: IBM TM1 (Planning Analytics) – Technical Lead
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced IBM TM1 (Planning Analytics) Technical Lead to design, develop, and manage enterprise planning and performance management solutions. The candidate will lead TM1 implementations, optimize models, and guide teams in delivering scalable and high-performance planning applications.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead end-to-end implementation of IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) solutions
Design and develop multidimensional TM1 models, cubes, dimensions, and hierarchies
Architect scalable and high-performance solutions aligned with business requirements
Drive best practices in model design, security, and performance tuning
Development & Maintenance
Develop and manage:
Turbo Integrator (TI) processes
Rules, feeders, and calculations
Chores and scheduling jobs
Handle data integration from multiple sources (ERP, SAP, databases, flat files)
Optimize models for performance, memory usage, and scalability
Planning Analytics Components
Work with:
Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW)
Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE)
Design dashboards, reports, and interactive planning interfaces
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with finance, business, and IT teams to gather requirements
Translate business needs into technical TM1 solutions
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
Support & Governance
Handle production support, bug fixes, and enhancements
Ensure data integrity, security, and audit compliance
Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
6–10+ years of experience in IBM TM1 / Planning Analytics
Strong expertise in:
TM1 Architecture and Model Design
Turbo Integrator scripting
Rules and Feeders optimization
Experience with PAW and PAfE
Data & Integration
Good knowledge of:
SQL, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
Data warehousing concepts
Experience integrating TM1 with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Performance Optimization
Strong understanding of:
Model performance tuning
Memory optimization techniques
Troubleshooting complex TM1 issues
Leadership Skills
Experience leading small to mid-size teams
Ability to drive delivery timelines and manage stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or reporting tools
Knowledge of Financial Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting processes
Exposure to Cloud deployments (IBM Cloud / AWS / Azure)
Familiarity with Agile delivery models
Key Responsibilities
2. To conduct comprehensive code reviews, establish and oversee quality assurance processes, performance optimization , implementation of best practices and coding standards to ensure successful delivery of complex projects.
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module| and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables and accordingly prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure & closure of escalations.
