Job Summary
Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Developer with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Database Design, and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise database solutions, automating business processes through VBA, and supporting data integration, reporting, and performance tuning initiatives. Key Responsibilities Database Development & Administration Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Create and optimize complex T-SQL queries for high-performance data processing. Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies. Develop, monitor, and manage ETL processes for data migration and integration. Implement database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. Ensure database integrity, availability, and reliability. VBA Development & Automation Develop and maintain VBA applications within Microsoft Excel and Access. Automate data extraction, validation, reporting, and workflow processes. Create complex Excel-based tools, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions. Integrate VBA applications with SQL Server databases and external systems. Troubleshoot and enhance existing VBA applications. Data Analysis & Reporting Develop reports and dashboards using SQL-based reporting tools. Support business users with data analysis and ad-hoc reporting requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Ensure data quality and consistency across applications and databases. Collaboration & Support Work closely with Business Analysts, Application Developers, and Project Managers. Participate in requirement gathering, solution design, and code reviews. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior database developers. Prepare technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022). Expert knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers, and Indexing. Hands-on expertise in SQL Performance Tuning and Query Optimization. Strong proficiency in VBA (Excel/Access Automation). Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Agent Jobs. Knowledge of database normalization and data modeling principles. Experience with backup/recovery, database security, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps. Preferred Skills Experience with Power BI reporting and dashboards. Exposure to Azure SQL Database or cloud database platforms. Knowledge of Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages. Understanding of Data Warehousing and ETL frameworks. Experience in financial, insurance, healthcare, or enterprise business applications. Educational Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. Relevant Microsoft SQL certifications are an added advantage. Key Responsibilities
2. To conduct comprehensive code reviews, establish and oversee quality assurance processes, performance optimization , implementation of best practices and coding standards to ensure successful delivery of complex projects.
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module| and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables and accordingly prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure & closure of escalations.
