Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Datadog Administrator with 8+ years of IT experience and strong expertise in monitoring, observability, cloud infrastructure, and platform administration. The candidate will be responsible for administering and optimizing the Datadog platform, ensuring end-to-end visibility across applications, infrastructure, cloud services, and business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the Datadog platform across enterprise environments.
  • Configure and maintain Datadog agents, integrations, monitors, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Manage Datadog modules including:
    • Infrastructure Monitoring
    • Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
    • Log Management
    • Synthetic Monitoring
    • Real User Monitoring (RUM)
    • Network Performance Monitoring
    • Cloud Security Monitoring
  • Create and maintain monitoring standards, alerting policies, and escalation workflows.
  • Integrate Datadog with cloud platforms, containerized environments, and third-party tools.
  • Perform health checks, capacity planning, and platform optimization.
  • Troubleshoot monitoring gaps, performance issues, and data ingestion problems.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, Cloud, SRE, and Application teams.
  • Implement monitoring automation using Terraform, APIs, and scripting.
  • Ensure monitoring compliance, governance, and best practices across the organization.
  • Develop operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Datadog administration and platform management.

    • Custom Metrics

Cloud Technologies

  • AWS, Azure, or GCP administration experience.
  • Cloud monitoring and observability implementation.

Containers & DevOps

  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • OpenShift (Preferred)
  • CI/CD Tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab)

Automation & Scripting

  • Terraform
  • Python
  • Shell Scripting
  • REST APIs

Monitoring Tools (Good to Have)

  • Splunk
  • Dynatrace
  • AppDynamics
  • Grafana
  • Prometheus
  • ELK Stack

Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 8+ years of overall IT experience.
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on Datadog administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and IT operations.
  • Experience supporting large-scale production environments.
  • Excellent incident troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.
