Senior Technical Lead

Job Summary

Senior Technical Lead role for Python full stack (Python, React) using AWS services.  

Key Responsibilities

  1. Write code in Python and React and design scalable, fault tolerant and distributed applications. Produce code that is robust, efficient and maintainable
  2. Build flexible systems choosing simple, straightforward solutions over more complex ones. Lead architecture of large initiatives in scaling, security and availability. Continually challenge what exists and explore what should be changed to best meet evolving business and market needs.
  3. You will write unit tests, integration tests and regression tests and find ways to automate them.
  4. Troubleshoot and fix operational problems
  5. Implement best practices in modern software engineering
  6. Possess self-drive to dive deep and maintain progress even in the face of ambiguity and imperfect knowledge (avoid “analysis paralysis”)

Skill Requirements

  1. Front End: Strong experience with React including: 
    1. Component-based architecture
    2. State management using Redux + Redux-Saga
    3. Unit testing (Jest / React Testing Library)
  1. The backend services use a serverless architecture and primary are written in python.
    1. Design and development of AWS Lambda (Python) with: 

RESTful APIs

WebSockets for real-time communication

Unit testing

    1. Experience building scalable and secure backend services
    2. Boto3 library exp.
  1. AWS:
    1. AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM
    2. RDS (SQL) and DynamoDB
    3. boto3 for AWS service integration inside Lambda handlers
  1. DevOps & CI/CD: Should be well versed with git, npm / yarn for package management, CI/CD pipelines integrating frontend, backend, and AWS deployments, AWS services that enable automated build, test, and deployment pipelines

  2. Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK

  3. Advanced CI/CD practices for automated testing and deployments

  4. Good communication skills
  5. Should we be work with minimal guidance
  6. Should be able to work with stakeholders to elicit/clarify requirements

Other Requirements

CloudFront and frontend hosting optimizations

Experience working in an Agile / Scrum setup like Sprint planning, Daily stand-ups and Retrospectives
