Job Summary
Candidates with more than 8 years’ experience is mandatory. Modern SoCs and packages combine CPU clusters with real-time cores, security islands, DSPs, NPUs, GPUs, and sometimes chiplet controllers. The lead shall own the system software that turns those engines into one working compute system: boot order, lifecycle of remote processors, inter-processor communication, memory maps and IOMMU policy, a minimal host runtime, and proof that a remote crash does not take down the host.
Key Responsibilities
- Define compute topology: which engines exist, execution sequence, fail-safe behavior, and the memory management.
- Deliver firmware images and the orchestrator that loads, starts, stops, and recovers them (remoteproc / OpenAMP class, or the customer equivalent).
- Specify and implement IPC (mailbox, RPMsg, virtio, SCMI, or equivalent) with timeouts and tracing.
- Run isolation tests: remote hang, crash, and IPC flood, and document what the host does.
Skill Requirements
- Experience across firmware and/or platform software on asymmetric multiprocessing, heterogeneous SoCs, accelerators, or multi-die systems.
- At least one program owned and technically executed end-to-end: you brought a second compute context from reset to a host-visible ready state, with IPC that carried a real payload, and a defined behavior when that engine failed.
- Working fluency in at least two of: remoteproc / OpenAMP, RPMsg or virtio, SCMI, SMMU / IOMMU, DSP or NPU microcontroller boot.
- Able to debug a system hang and assign it to host software, remote firmware, memory map, or interconnect.
Other Requirements
Must have skills - Firmware and/or platform software
Good to have skills
- Multi-die or chiplet system firmware (beyond electrical interconnect bring-up).
- Isolation or freedom-from-interference evidence used by a safety team.
- One repository and configuration model instead of a firmware fork per product variant.
- Experience on mobile, PC, automotive domain-controller, or datacenter accelerator platforms with multiple programmable engines.
