Job Description
Senior Technical Lead
Bengaluru, Karnataka

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Lead with a powerful background in backend development and systems automation. In this role, you will architect, build, and scale robust REST APIs, developer tooling, and automated data pipelines. You will serve as a hands-on technical expert, bridging the gap between software engineering and infrastructure automation using Python and Bash shell scripting. As a leader, you will guide a team of engineers, set technical standards, and drive execution to deliver high-performance developer ecosystems and data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Core Development
    • Design and build high-performance, secure, and scalable REST APIs using modern Python frameworks (such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
    • Develop and maintain robust developer tooling, CLIs, and internal utilities that improve engineering productivity and simplify complex workflows.
    • Architect automated data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, processing, and loading (ETL/ELT).
🐚 Automation & Systems Engineering
    • Write expert-level Bash shell scripts to automate system tasks, deployments, environment setups, and continuous integration flows.
    • Integrate Python and Bash seamlessly to bridge application code with underlying OS-level processes and cloud infrastructure.
    • Optimize script execution, system resource utilization, and error-handling routines for critical automated workflows.
👥 Technical Leadership & Governance
    • Provide technical mentorship to software and DevOps engineers, conducting rigorous code reviews and promoting engineering best practices.
    • Define technical roadmaps, system architectures, and coding standards for APIs, automation scripts, and data engineering projects.
    • Collaborate closely with product managers, DevOps teams, and security stakeholders to align engineering output with business objectives.

Skill Requirements

Professional Experience
    • 8+ years of total experience in software development, with a minimum of 2+ years in a technical leadership or architecture role.
    • Proven track record of designing production-grade, distributed systems and large-scale data workflows.
💻 Technical Expertise
    • Expert Python Skills: Deep knowledge of Python internals, asynchronous programming, testing frameworks (pytest), and package management.
    • Advanced Bash Scripting: Mastery of Linux/Unix environments, shell utilities (awk, sed, grep), process management, and secure scripting principles.
    • API Development: Extensive experience building, documenting (OpenAPI/Swagger), and securing RESTful web services.
    • Data Pipelines: Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect) and handling structured/unstructured data.
    • DevOps & Infrastructure: Solid experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
🧠 Soft Skills
    • Strong problem-solving abilities with a laser focus on system reliability and automation.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
