Senior Technical Lead

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced SQL DBA with expertise in SQL Server administration, performance optimization, high availability, backup/recovery, and production support. Snowflake knowledge/exposure is required as a secondary skill.

Key Responsibilities

SQL Database Administration

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity planning.
  • Conduct query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
  • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and database replication solutions.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and audit requirements are met.
  • Support high availability solutions including Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, and Log Shipping.
  • Create and maintain database maintenance plans and automation scripts.

Production Support & Operations

  • Provide L2/L3 support for production database environments.
  • Participate in incident management, problem management, and change management activities.
  • Perform database patching, migrations, and upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and data engineering teams.
  • Develop operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.

Participate in on-call support and planned maintenance activities

Skill Requirements

Required Skills

Snowflake

  • Strong experience with Snowflake architecture and administration.
  • Experience with Snowflake security, RBAC, masking policies, and data governance.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake Time Travel, Fail-safe, Streams, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables.
  • Experience monitoring and optimizing Snowflake workloads.
  • Understanding of Snowflake cost management and performance optimization.

SQL Server

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server Administration.
  • Expertise in SQL query tuning and database performance optimization.
  • Experience with backup/recovery, HA/DR, Clustering, and Always On.
  • Strong knowledge of database monitoring and troubleshooting.

Cloud & Data Warehousing

  • Experience with Azure platforms.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience with data migration from on-premises databases to cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of data integration tools such as Informatica, Matillion, ADF, SSIS, or similar tools.

Other Requirements

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting 24x7 production environments.
  • Exposure to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
