Job Summary
Senior AWS Engineer / Developer
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior AWS Engineer with a strong software development background to design, build, and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS. You will work closely with engineering and architecture teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available systems — ideally within a banking or financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud-native applications and infrastructure on AWS, with a focus on scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency
- Write high-quality, production-grade code across the full development lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy)
- Lead the development of microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures using AWS-native and open-source tooling
- Define and enforce infrastructure-as-code standards using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and drive DevSecOps best practices
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC 2)
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on AWS cloud development
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages — Python, Java, Go, or Node.js
- Deep hands-on experience with core AWS services: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, IAM, VPC
- Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or equivalent)
- Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful or event-driven APIs
- AWS certification — Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or Developer
Preferred
- Experience in banking or financial services
