Role Overview
AkzoNobel is looking for an experienced Observability Engineer to establish and enhance monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and performance management across enterprise digital platforms and cloud-native applications.
The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing observability solutions that improve platform reliability, application performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency across Azure-based applications and services.

Design, implement, and maintain enterprise observability frameworks.
Build end-to-end monitoring solutions for applications, APIs, infrastructure, databases, and cloud services.
Configure dashboards, metrics, alerts, and automated incident notifications.
Implement distributed tracing and application performance monitoring (APM).
Integrate observability platforms with incident management and ITSM tools.
Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets.
Improve platform reliability through proactive monitoring and predictive analytics.
Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, Cloud, Security, Development, and Support teams.
Establish observability standards, governance, and best practices.

Required Experience
6+ years in Monitoring, Production Support, DevOps, SRE, or Observability Engineering.
Hands-on experience with at least two enterprise observability platforms such as AppDynamics, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or ThousandEyes.
Experience implementing centralized logging and automated alerting solutions.
Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning expertise.

Education
