Analytics Engineer / Data Analyst (Contract)

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Analytics Engineer / Data Analyst who can turn data into meaningful business insights. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with large datasets, conducting exploratory data analysis (EDA), identifying trends and patterns, and presenting findings through reports and dashboards. This role requires strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders to solve real-world problems using data.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical questions and problem statements.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and potential opportunities.
• Perform root cause analysis and hypothesis testing to uncover key business drivers and insights.
• Extract, clean, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources using SQL and Python.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to monitor business performance and support decision-making.
• Interpret analytical results and communicate findings in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders.
• Support ad-hoc analysis requests and provide recommendations based on data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and business users to ensure data quality and analytical accuracy.
• Build reusable analytical assets, scripts, and frameworks to improve reporting efficiency and consistency.

Support data science and advanced analytics initiatives where required

Skill Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related analytical roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and automation.
• Experience conducting exploratory data analysis (EDA), data profiling, and root cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and hypothesis-driven problem solving.
• Experience building dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.
• Ability to work with large and complex datasets from multiple sources.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to data science or machine learning projects.
• Experience working in financial services, insurance, banking, or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Spark, or cloud-based analytics platforms.
• Experience supporting business transformation or process improvement initiatives.
