Core Java & Backend

  • Strong hands‑on experience in Java 8+ / Java EE with proven capability in building and maintaining large‑scale enterprise applications
  • Solid experience with Spring / Spring Boot frameworks as part of application modernisation initiatives
  • Demonstrated expertise in JVM tuning, performance analysis, and optimisation
  • Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming, design patterns, and clean coding standards
  • Good technical hands-on on message transformations eg. ISO Json format to ISO XML format

Middleware & Integration

  • Hands‑on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), including application deployment, configuration, and production troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and messaging technologies (e.g. IBM MQ, Solace, or equivalent)
  • Experience designing and consuming SOAP and RESTful services, with strong knowledge of XML and JSON
  • Experience with batch processing frameworks, job scheduling, and large‑volume batch workloads

Payments & Banking

  • Experience working on payments processing systems, including real‑time and batch payment flows
  • Strong understanding of high‑volume, low‑latency transactional systems in regulated environments
  • Exposure to enterprise payment integrations, including SAP and internal clearing or settlement systems

DevOps & Engineering Practices

  • Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Hands‑on experience with build and dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle
  • Experience with application monitoring and observability, including logging, metrics, and alerting
  • Proven experience supporting production systems, including incident management and root‑cause analysis

Database & Operating Systems

  • Strong SQL skills with experience in enterprise relational databases (Oracle, DB2, or equivalent)
  • Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments, including basic scripting and operational support
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and messaging technologies (e.g. IBM MQ, or equivalent
