Job Summary

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Onsite Life400 / SMART400 Consultant with extensive expertise in DXC/CSC Life400 (LifeAsia) core insurance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. As the primary onsite technical point of contact, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders, local product owners, and offshore delivery teams. This role requires a perfect balance of strong legacy technical engineering skills, deep life insurance domain knowledge, and exceptional client-facing communication to drive system enhancements, handle complex production support escalations, and manage delivery lifecycles directly at the client premises

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact at the client site for all Life400/SMART400 related core systems.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, local product owners, and end-users to gather, clarify, and challenge business requirements.
  • Translate complex functional requirements into clear, robust technical specifications and architectural workflows for the offshore development team.
  • Manage local client expectations, provide regular project status updates, and participate actively in critical architecture and change control board reviews.

Skill Requirements

  • Core Legacy Ecosystem: DXC Life400 / LifeAsia, SMART400 Framework
  • Programming Languages: COBOL/400, ILE COBOL, CL/CLLE (Control Language)
  • Database Management: DB2/400, SQL/400 (Advanced querying, table design, and performance tuning)
  • IBM i (AS/400) Utilities: Query/400, WRKACTJOB, WRKSPLF, Interactive Debugger
  • Operations & Batch: Batch Job Architecture, Job Schedulers, System Diagnostics, and Error Handling
  • Integration Patterns: SOAP/REST APIs, Web Services, XML, JSON integration formats
