Senior SAP BW / BO Migration Consultant
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP BI/Analytics Consultant to lead the migration of legacy SAP BW reporting solutions built using Web Application Designer (WAD) and deployed through the SAP Enterprise Portal (Java Portal) to SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (WebI).
The consultant will be responsible for analyzing existing WAD applications, documenting business and technical requirements, redesigning reports in Web Intelligence, validating data accuracy, and supporting business users through testing and deployment. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in SAP BW reporting, BusinessObjects (BOBJ), Web Intelligence, and enterprise reporting migrations.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Discovery
- Inventory and analyze existing WAD reports, templates, and web applications.
- Review SAP BW data models, BEx Queries, InfoProviders, Composite Providers, and data flows supporting WAD applications.
- Identify report functionality, business rules, calculations, variables, filters, navigation states, and drill-down capabilities.
- Evaluate Java Portal integrations, roles, authorizations, and report access mechanisms.
Migration & Development
- Translate WAD reporting requirements into SAP Web Intelligence solutions.
- Design and develop WebI reports that replicate or enhance existing WAD functionality.
- Optimize report performance and usability.
Implement report prompts, variables, calculations, formatting, and scheduling requirements.
