Job Summary
An SAP Service and Asset Manager (SSAM) consultant or developer configures, deploys, and maintains SAP’s native mobile application for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM). This role bridges backend SAP PM/S/4HANA systems with field technicians, using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and the Mobile Development Kit (MDK)
Key Responsibilities
Implementation & Configuration: Set up and configure SSAM integration with SAP S/4HANA or ECC backend via OData services and SAP BTP Mobile Services.
Customization: Tailor mobile workflows, screen layouts, user personas (Maintenance, Inventory, Safety, and Field Service), and business logic rules using MDK.
Offline Sync Management: Troubleshoot and optimize data synchronization, offline database caching, and conflict resolution between mobile devices and the enterprise backend.
Collaboration & Support: Partner with functional SAP PM/EAM teams to map business processes—such as work orders, notifications, measurements, and functional locations—into mobile execution.
Testing & Deployment: Perform end-to-end testing of mobile apps across iOS, Android, or Windows platforms and manage device deployments.
Skill Requirements
Experience: 5 to 9+ years in SAP implementation, specifically focused on SAP PM (Plant Maintenance), EAM, or mobile solutions (SMP, SAP Asset Manager, or SSAM)
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP BTP, MDK (Mobile Development Kit), JavaScript/TypeScript, OData services, and REST APIs.
Functional Knowledge: Strong understanding of plant maintenance business processes, notification lifecycles, work order execution, and inventory movements
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose data sync failures, performance lags, and user credential/authorization issues
