Job Summary

As an Appian BPM Application Support & Enhancement Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing business process management (BPM) applications built on the Appian Low-Code Platform. You will ensure the stability, performance, and availability of critical business workflows while collaborating with business stakeholders, product teams, and developers to deliver continuous improvements. The role involves production support, incident management, application enhancements, process optimization, integration support, and platform administration within an Agile delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide L2/L3 support for Appian BPM applications across Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.Monitor application performance, process execution, integrations, and platform health to ensure SLA compliance.Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Appian processes, interfaces, records, reports, integrations, and workflows.Analyze production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.Develop and implement minor enhancements, bug fixes, and continuous improvement initiatives.Support Appian deployments, releases, patching, and platform upgrades.Collaborate with business users and process owners to understand requirements and implement workflow enhancements.Develop and maintain Appian objects including:

  • Interfaces (SAIL)

  • Reports
  • Expression Rules
  • Decision Tables
Support integrations with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and third-party platforms.Ensure application security, role-based access controls, and compliance with governance standards.Manage incidents, service requests, problem records, and changes using ServiceNow.Participate in on-call support, major incident management, and operational governance activities.Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, runbooks, and knowledge articles.

Other Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in Appian Development, Application Support, or BPM Operations.Strong understanding of business process automation and workflow management.Experience supporting business-critical applications in production environments.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.Experience working in global AMS/RunOps and support organizations.Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps delivery models.Appian Certified Associate Developer, Senior Developer, or Lead Developer certification is preferred.Experience supporting Healthcare, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Financial Services, or regulated industry applications is desirable.Exposure to AI-powered workflow automation, RPA, GenAI integrations, and process intelligence solutions is an added advantage.Knowledge of compliance, audit, and governance requirements for enterprise applications is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
