Job Summary

  • Lead implementation, enhancement, and support activities for Epic Grand Central (ADT) applications.
  • Configure and maintain admission, discharge, transfer, registration, bed management, and patient movement workflows.
  • Gather and analyze business, operational, and clinical requirements from healthcare stakeholders.
  • Design and optimize inpatient operational workflows across hospitals and healthcare facilities.
  • Configure hospital units, room and bed hierarchies, transfer rules, patient classes, service areas, and location structures.
  • Support patient placement, bed assignment, census management, discharge planning, and transfer management processes.
  • Collaborate with Cadence, Prelude, Ambulatory, Revenue Cycle, ClinDoc, Orders, and MyChart teams to support integrated workflows.
  • Facilitate workflow design sessions and recommend Epic best practices for patient throughput and operational efficiency.
  • Develop functional specifications, build documentation, workflow diagrams, test plans, and training materials.
  • Lead unit testing, integrated testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Support go-live planning, cutover execution, and hypercare support.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Support system upgrades, enhancements, and optimization initiatives.
  • Assist healthcare organizations in improving patient flow and bed utilization strategies.
  • Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance on configuration and operational best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Hospital Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of healthcare IT experience with Epic implementation and support projects.
  • Epic Grand Central Certification (Mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of ADT workflows including admissions, transfers, discharges, patient placement, and bed management.
  • Experience supporting inpatient and hospital operations functions.
  • Understanding of patient access, registration, scheduling, and revenue cycle integration points.
  • Experience conducting workflow analysis, solution design, testing, and production support activities.
  • Ability to lead client-facing discussions and operational workflow workshops.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with Canadian healthcare organizations is highly preferred.

  • Epic Prelude Certification.
  • Epic Cadence Certification.
  • Epic Hospital Billing (HB) Certification.
  • Epic Resolute Professional Billing (PB) Certification.
  • Epic Clinical Documentation (ClinDoc) Certification.
  • Experience with transfer center operations and patient throughput initiatives.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and integration concepts.
  • Experience with Reporting Workbench, Clarity, and operational dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
