Job Summary
1. Core Languages: Deep proficiency in C/C++ and Pascal programming, including compiling, linking, and runtime debugging on enterprise server environments.
2. Database Mastery: Strong advanced PostgreSQL skills (complex stored procedures, query optimization, transactional safety, and relational schema management).
3. UI Frameworks: Experience or strong conceptual familiarity with DEC Forms (or equivalent forms-based UI processing systems) and managing their active parallel execution sessions with back-end modules.
4. Environment Knowledge: Familiarity with OpenVMS, Linux, or Unix-like systems where such compiled applications and terminal-based forms typically reside.
Key Responsibilities
Functional & Technical responsibilities-
L3 Production Support & Deep-Dive Triage:
- Parallel Session Debugging: Lead the debugging of complex application states where DEC Forms UI sessions run in parallel execution with underlying Pascal modules.
- Database Performance Tuning: Investigate complex transactional bottlenecks, deadlocks, and query performance degradation within the PostgreSQL data layer.
- Hotfix Engineering: Write, test, and safely package code-level hotfixes in C/C++ and Pascal to resolve critical system failures without disrupting active warehouse flows.
Continuous Enhancements & Code Modernization:
- Feature Development: Design and implement application enhancements to optimize warehouse picking, packing, put-away, and material handling logic within MHS.
- Refactoring & Optimization: Identify legacy code paths (Pascal/C) or inefficient DEC Forms workflows that can be refactored to improve processing speeds and system reliability.
- System Integration: Maintain and enhance interfaces linking MHS to modern edge APIs, automation hardware (PLCs), and broader IKEA supply chain ecosystems.
Required skillset-
Leadership & Operational Competencies:
- People Management: 8+ years of experience managing technical support or engineering teams within highly critical, 24/7 operational environments (logistics, manufacturing, or retail).
- SLA & Queue Management: Strong expertise in ITIL framework operations, focusing on Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
Analytical Problem Solving: Exceptional capability to dissect multi-layered software issues spanning legacy code, database connections, and user interface sessions
