Key Responsibilities
2. To conduct comprehensive code reviews, establish and oversee quality assurance processes, performance optimization , implementation of best practices and coding standards to ensure successful delivery of complex projects.
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module| and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables and accordingly prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure & closure of escalations.
Skill Requirements
Vertex Administration & Support
- Administer, configure, and maintain Vertex O series applications
- Manage user access, roles, security, and environment setup across DEV/TEST/PROD.
- Monitor system performance, batch jobs, and data integrity; proactively resolve issues.
- Provide support for Vertex incidents, defects, and enhancement requests.
Configuration & Enhancements
- Configure tax rules, rates, jurisdictions, calculations, workflows, and reports based on business and regulatory requirements.
- Support new country/state tax setups, legislative changes, and periodic tax updates.
- Partner with Tax teams to implement changes related to new business models, acquisitions, or regulatory requirements.
Integrations & Data Management
- Support integrations between Vertex and ERP systems and other upstream/downstream applications.
- Validate inbound and outbound data feeds; ensure data accuracy and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with IT and vendors during integration changes, upgrades, or migrations.
Testing & Release Management
- Lead and support system testing for patches, upgrades, tax updates, and enhancements.
- Coordinate UAT with Tax and Finance stakeholders.
- Prepare deployment plans and support production releases.
Governance, Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain system documentation, configuration guides, SOPs, and support playbooks.
- Ensure SOX controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards are met.
- Support internal and external audits by providing system evidence and explanations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience administering Vertex.
- Strong understanding of indirect tax and/or corporate tax processes.
- Experience integrating Tax engines with enterprise ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of tax data flows, calculations, and reporting.
- Experience supporting production systems in a global enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Vertex upgrades, cloud transitions, or ERP migrations.
- Knowledge of SOX controls and audit processes.
- Experience working with global tax teams across multiple geographies.
- Prior consulting or managed services experience with Vertex.
- Exposure to automation, reporting tools, or data analytics is a plus.
