Job Summary
Job Title: Workday Absence SME
Role Purpose: The Workday Absence SME is a specialist consultant responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and supporting Workday Absence functionality. The role requires deep expertise in leave plans, accruals, eligibility, validations, and absence-related business processes, together with the ability to advise stakeholders on best practices and compliance-aligned solution design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead requirement gathering and design workshops for Workday Absence processes.
- Configure absence plans, accrual rules, eligibility rules, validations, and related business processes.
- Analyze statutory, policy, and operational requirements and translate them into scalable Workday configuration.
- Support testing, defect resolution, data validation, and deployment activities.
- Provide advisory support on leave management best practices and release impacts.
- Collaborate with Payroll, Time Tracking, Core HCM, Security, and Integration teams on cross-functional dependencies.
- Develop configuration documentation, test scripts, process guides, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement recommendations.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Strong hands-on configuration experience in Workday Absence Management.
- Deep understanding of leave plans, accruals, eligibility, and compliance-related absence requirements.
- Experience in business process design, testing, release impact analysis, and issue resolution.
- Ability to work across HR, Payroll, and technical teams to manage functional dependencies.
- Strong documentation, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Workday Absence certification is required.
Certification: Workday Absence certification is mandatory for this role.
