Job Summary

Serve as the retail business domain expert for data, analytics, AI, and digital transformation initiatives. Drive alignment between merchandising, stores, e-commerce, supply chain, marketing, and data teams to unlock business value through data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Retail domain leadership 

Provide expertise across key retail functions: 

Merchandising 

Category management 

Pricing and promotions 

Store operations 

E-commerce and omnichannel 

Supply chain and inventory management 

Customer loyalty and CRM 

Translate business objectives into data and analytics requirements 

Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and data teams 

Data strategy and governance 

Define retail data domains and business ownership 

Establish data standards, business definitions, and governance processes 

Drive data quality initiatives across product, customer, inventory, sales, and supplier data 

Define critical business KPIs and measurement frameworks 

Analytics and insights 

Partner with analytics teams to build actionable dashboards and reporting solutions 

Support customer segmentation and personalization initiatives 

Omnichannel and customer analytics 

Define metrics across: 

Stores 

Mobile applications 

E-commerce platforms 

Marketplaces 

Loyalty programs 

Drive a unified customer view across channels 

Support customer journey and conversion funnel analysis 

Supply chain and inventory analytics 

Define reporting and analytics requirements for: 

Demand forecasting 

Replenishment 

Inventory optimization 

Vendor performance 

Fulfillment operations 

Support initiatives to reduce stock-outs, overstocks, and working capital 

AI and advanced analytics 

Identify AI and GenAI use cases across retail operations 

Guide development of: 

Demand forecasting models 

Recommendation engines 

Dynamic pricing solutions 

Promotion optimization 

Customer churn prediction 

Assortment optimization 

Validate business outcomes and adoption strategies 

Stakeholder management 

Facilitate workshops and business requirement sessions 

Drive cross-functional alignment and prioritization 

Skill Requirements

Retail domain expertise 

10–15+ years in retail, e-commerce, consumer goods, or omnichannel retail 

Deep understanding of:

Inventory planning

Data and analytics experience

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
