Job Summary

Experience

Senior / Professional, typically 8-10+ years in SAP BW/BI and SAP reporting

Role purpose

Own SAP BW/BI reporting continuity during transition, with focus on finance, logistics and operational reporting across SAP ECC/S/4HANA-aligned sources and downstream analytics platforms.

Business / application coverage

SAP BW/4HANA or SAP BW, SAP HANA modelling, SAP ECC/S4 integration with analytics, finance/logistics reports, data provisioning, operational reporting, KPI dashboards and reporting incident support.

 

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

- Lead KT and documentation for SAP BW/BI objects, extractors, data flows, process chains, reports, queries and finance/logistics reporting dependencies.
- Support integration of SAP ECC/S4 sources with BW/HANA and analytics platforms, including validation of data loads, reconciliation and reporting dependencies.
- Analyse and resolve BW/BI incidents related to failed loads, missing data, performance issues, authorization impacts, incorrect calculations and report availability.
- Optimize BW models, HANA views, queries and report performance where recurring issues or transition risks are identified.
- Partner with Finance, OTC, MM/PP and SCM consultants to validate business-critical reporting for month-end, supply-chain and operational activities.
- Create runbooks for process-chain monitoring, report validation, escalation routes and regression checks after releases or data-model changes.
- Support roadmap discussions for legacy BW modernization or migration to future analytics platforms where applicable.

 

Skill Requirements

Mandatory skills

SAP BW/4HANA or SAP BW; SAP HANA modelling; BW data flows, extractors, process chains and queries; ETL/data provisioning; finance/logistics reporting; SQL; basic ABAP debugging; incident/problem management.

Optional skills

Power BI, SAC, Azure analytics, SAP BTP, data-governance frameworks, performance tuning, migration from legacy BW to modern analytics stack.

Key interfaces

Finance Lead, Finance Consultant, MM/PP Consultant, OTC Consultant, BASIS, Security, Integration Engineer, BI stakeholders and Service Manager.

Expected KPIs / outcomes

Reporting availability, data-load SLA adherence, report defect resolution, reduction of recurring data-load issues, on-time reporting validation for month-end and release cycles.
