Job Summary
HCL is looking for a Senior FERC & AWWA Consultant for a green field S4 HANA and brown field migration project from ECC to S/4 HANA. The person would be responsible for ensuring that all regulatory accounting and reporting structures remain compliant and functional throughout the technical conversion, focusing on remediating existing legacy logic to fit the SAP Universal Journal and specific FERC & AWWA tables while preserving historical data integrity. We need an enterprising resource who is very proactive.
Key Responsibilities
• Regulatory Migration Strategy: Lead the assessment of current ECC FERC & AWWA accounting structures and define the roadmap for their transition to S/4HANA, specifically addressing impact on FERC & AWWA reporting
• Simplification Item Remediation: Analyze the SAP Simplification Item Catalog to identify and resolve inconsistencies between legacy FERC & AWWA derivation models and S/4HANA's streamlined architecture.
• ACDOCA & FERC/AWWA Alignment: Oversee the mapping of regulatory classifications (USoA) into the Universal Journal, ensuring that transaction-level data correctly populates mandatory regulatory reporting tables.
• New Asset Accounting: Direct the configuration and testing of New Asset Accounting (FI-AA) in S/4HANA, ensuring utility-specific depreciation and retirement processes meet FERC & AWWA requirements.
• Stakeholder & Audit Liaison: Act as the primary interface between the technical migration team and the client’s Regulatory and Accounting departments to validate that "to-be" designs satisfy both internal controls and external audit standards.
• Functional Specification & RICEF: Develop and review functional specifications for custom regulatory reports or enhancements (RICEF objects) that must be carried over or optimized during the conversion.
Skill Requirements
• Technical Expertise: 10+ years of SAP experience with deep knowledge of SAP FI/CO and FERC & AWWA modules.
• Migration Experience: Proven track record in at least one ECC to S/4HANA Brownfield conversion, including hands-on work with tools like Software Update Manager (SUM) and SAP Readiness Check.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of the FERC & AWWA Uniform System of Accounts (USoA), NARUC guidelines, and utility cost allocation methodologies.
• System Conversion Tools: Proficiency in SAP's conversion-specific tools, including the Migration Cockpit, LSMW, and custom code remediation techniques.
• Experience with Funds Management & Grants Management would be a plus
