We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Developer with specialized expertise in BusinessObjects to support the migration of reporting infrastructure from our Lithuania local data centre to a centralized data warehouse environment. As a BusinessObjects specialist, you will be the critical link between data warehouse/data engineering teams and business reporting stakeholders, ensuring all existing reporting workloads are seamlessly transitioned while preserving output formats and data integrity. This role is essential to the success of our Lithuania data centre/data warehouse migration initiative, working alongside data engineering resources to guarantee zero disruption to business reporting.

Lead the assessment, analysis, and documentation of existing BusinessObjects reporting infrastructure, including all reports, universes, data connections, and business logic
Develop comprehensive BusinessObjects reporting solutions aligned with the new centralized data warehouse architecture, ensuring all reports connect to Central Data Warehouse resources
Preserve and validate all current report outputs and downstream formats throughout the migration, ensuring complete alignment with existing downstream consumer systems
Collaborate closely with Data Warehouse Developers and Data Engineers to understand new data structures, schema designs, and data lineage from source systems through the Central Data Warehouse
Migrate or rebuild existing BusinessObjects universes, semantic layers, and objects to leverage the new centralized data warehouse while maintaining business logic and calculations
Perform comprehensive validation and reconciliation testing to ensure report outputs remain identical before, during, and after the migration
Support business and regulatory reporting requirements by maintaining all reporting schedules, formats, and compliance outputs without interruption
Optimize BusinessObjects performance in the new environment through universe tuning, query optimization, and efficient data refresh strategies
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, business units, and IT infrastructure to ensure seamless report delivery and user access management
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for reporting issues, performance problems, and user access during and post-migration
Skill Requirements
Core Technical Competencies
Expert-level proficiency in SAP BusinessObjects (Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, Crystal Reports)
Advanced expertise in BusinessObjects Universe design and administration (UDT, UMT, CMC)
Strong SQL skills for query validation, universe object creation, and database troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with BusinessObjects Information Design Tool (IDT) and semantic layer design
Experience with data connection management and ODBC/JDBC connections to relational databases
Proficiency in report design, formatting, and advanced report features (parameters, drill-down, cascading selectors)
Required Qualifications
Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence development and reporting
Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects (any version BO 4.0+)
Demonstrated expertise in designing and maintaining BusinessObjects universes and semantic layers
Strong SQL knowledge and ability to write and optimize complex database queries
Proven experience in large-scale reporting migrations or infrastructure changes
Experience troubleshooting reporting performance issues and optimizing query execution
Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, schema design, and dimensional modeling
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle database environments and Oracle-based reporting systems
Familiarity with data warehouse migration projects and cutover procedures
Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance reporting systems
Experience with BusinessObjects server administration and security/access management
Exposure to modern BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) for context awareness of industry trends
Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline concepts
SAP BusinessObjects certification or equivalent advanced training
Collaboration with Data Engineering Resources
This role requires close collaboration with Data Warehouse Developers and Data Engineers. You will work as a key member of the technical team to:
Interface between reporting consumers and data engineering teams to communicate requirements and constraints
Provide input on data warehouse design based on reporting requirements and data access patterns
Coordinate data validation and reconciliation testing across reporting layers and data warehouse
Troubleshoot data quality issues and coordinate resolution with data engineering team
Support coordinated cutover and migration activities to ensure reporting layer moves in sync with data warehouse migration
