Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Lead Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience to take up a Chapter Lead role within the DHub operating model. The role will combine deep technical delivery ownership with chapter leadership, engineering governance, mentoring, capability building, and standards definition across full stack engineering teams.
The Chapter Lead will work closely with squad leads, platform leads, engineering managers, architects, and product teams to ensure consistent engineering excellence while enabling autonomous squad delivery. The role is expected to establish guardrails, mentor engineers, drive technical reviews, improve engineering practices, and help build a scalable, AI-ready engineering capability aligned to the DHub Costa Rica model, where HCLTech Chapter Leads establish standards, guardrails, and mentoring cadence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership
Lead full stack engineering across modern cloud-native application development using React, Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, REST APIs, and AWS.
Define and govern engineering standards for frontend, backend, API, cloud deployment, observability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Provide hands-on technical guidance on architecture, design patterns, reusable components, API design, integration approaches, and scalable application development.
Review solution designs, code quality, technical debt, non-functional requirements, and release readiness across squads.
Drive adoption of engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, secure coding, API-first design, trunk-based development, documentation-as-code, and cloud-native development.
2. Chapter Leadership
Act as the Full Stack Engineering Chapter Lead, responsible for capability growth, standards, mentoring, and technical consistency across engineers working in different squads.
Coach and mentor senior, mid-level, and junior engineers on software craftsmanship, architecture thinking, code quality, delivery discipline, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
Create and maintain a full stack engineering skill matrix, proficiency expectations, learning pathways, and assessment criteria for the chapter.
Support hiring, technical evaluation, onboarding, and role-fitment for full stack engineers, including interviews, coding assessments, hackathons, and technical screening.
Establish a chapter rhythm including technical forums, code review clinics, design review sessions, learning circles, and engineering retrospectives.
3. Squad Enablement
Work with squad leads and platform leads to translate backlog, product priorities, and technical requirements into executable engineering plans.
Enable squads to meet sprint goals while maintaining technical quality and engineering discipline.
Provide escalation support for complex technical issues, production defects, performance bottlenecks, integration challenges, and architectural decisions.
Support onboarding of engineers into squads by providing product, technology, engineering process, and platform context.
Ensure engineers are aligned to squad-level delivery expectations while continuing to develop through chapter-led coaching and capability building.
4. AI-Ready Engineering Enablement
Promote adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and practices across the SDLC, including AI-assisted code generation, test generation, code review, documentation, refactoring, and impact analysis.
Work with AI transformation squads and architects to identify opportunities where agentic AI can improve engineering throughput, quality, and cycle time.
Support engineers in becoming AI-enabled and AI-native developers through practical mentoring, prompt engineering guidance, and hands-on enablement.
Help embed AI-enabled engineering practices into day-to-day development without compromising human review, security, traceability, or quality guardrails.
5. Governance and Quality
Define and enforce engineering guardrails for application design, coding standards, branching strategy, API standards, security practices, test coverage, and release quality.
Partner with architects, DevOps, QA, cybersecurity, and platform teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable.
Drive continuous improvement across engineering productivity, defect prevention, reusability, automation, and developer experience.
Contribute to performance feedback, capability assessments, succession planning, and technical growth plans for chapter members.

Strong architectural judgment with the ability to balance speed, quality, maintainability, security, and business outcomes.
Experience working in agile product delivery environments with product owners, scrum masters, platform leads, and cross-functional squads.
Ability to influence without direct line authority, especially in matrixed squad/chapter operating models.
Delivery and Governance Skills
Experience defining engineering standards, reusable patterns, development guardrails, and technical review mechanisms.
Ability to support technical hiring, candidate evaluation, onboarding, and capability assessment.
Strong understanding of engineering metrics, delivery predictability, quality gates, and continuous improvement practices.
Experience working in large enterprise environments with compliance, security, and stakeholder governance expectations.
Preferred Experience
Experience in a nearshore/global delivery model.
Experience with AI-assisted software engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, coding agents, test generation agents, documentation agents, or similar engineering accelerators.
Exposure to platform engineering, developer portals, reusable engineering frameworks, and cloud-native modernization.
Experience supporting build-operate-transfer, capability center, digital hub, or product engineering hub models.
Experience working in regulated enterprise environments such as life sciences, healthcare, agriculture, financial services, or manufacturing.
