Job Summary

The SAP BDC / Datasphere Consultant builds and maintains the data pipelines and semantic models on SAP Business Data Cloud and SAP Datasphere. Working to the architect’s standards, the consultant delivers data loads from S/4HANA, builds reusable models and supports testing and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

•    Configure connections and build replication flows, remote tables, data flows and transformation flows to load S/4HANA data into Datasphere.
•    Develop graphical and SQL views, analytic models, fact and dimension entities and associations in line with design standards.
•    Should have good knowledge of Intelligent Applications, Data Products, Object Store, BDC Connect.
•    Should have good knowledge and hands on of exposing the various artefacts from BW and other SAP systems to expose the data product to be leveraged in BDC Datasphere.
•    Implement data validation, reconciliation and error-handling for loads, and monitor and tune load performance.
•    Should have good knowledge of BW to Datasphere conversion, challenges while rebuilding the objects from BW to datasphere.
•    Should be able to create calculation where the standard functionality doesn’t suffice, should have knowledge of Data Access Control, Currency conversion, Intelligent lookups and other datasphere capabilities.
•    Support the data feed to downstream reporting through the agreed integration route.
•    Perform unit testing, support SIT/UAT defect fixing and prepare technical documentation.
•    Manage transports and promotion of objects across development, test and production tenants.
•    Raise risks and dependencies and update delivery status as part of daily stand-ups.

Skill Requirements

•    Hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere data builder and integration monitoring.
•    Strong SQL and SQLScript, including HANA SQL.
•    Understanding of S/4HANA data structures, CDS views and ODP extraction.
•    Familiarity with SAP BDC components and data products.
•    Knowledge of data quality, scheduling and task chains.
