Senior Test Lead - analytics - functional testing, SQL

Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
1. Functional Testing
- Design, develop, and execute test cases and test scenarios based on business requirements.
- Perform manual testing including system, integration, regression, and UAT support.
- Validate application workflows, business rules, and functional requirements.
- Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA/Azure DevOps.
- Ensure complete test coverage and traceability.
2. Database Testing (MSSQL)
- Write and execute SQL queries (T-SQL) for data validation.
- Perform backend testing to verify data accuracy between UI and database.
- Validate CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete).
- Test stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Conduct data integrity, data consistency, and data migration testing.
- Perform ETL/data validation checks where applicable.
3. Test Data & Validation
- Create and manage test data using MSSQL.
- Perform data reconciliation and cross-system validation.
- Validate large datasets and identify discrepancies.
4. Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Teams.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives).
- Prepare test reports, defect summaries, and status updates.
- Provide UAT support and release validation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience in Functional/Manual Testing.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries, joins, subqueries, and T-SQL.
- Experience in database testing and backend validation.
- Familiarity with test case design techniques.
- Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with API Testing (Postman).
- Knowledge of basic automation tools (Selenium – optional).
- Exposure to ETL/Data Warehousing concepts.
- Experience in Agile environments.
- Familiarity with performance basics in SQL (indexing, query optimization).
