Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases for automotive infotainment systems using Kotlin and Appium-based test frameworks.
- Create readable, maintainable, and scalable test scripts following best coding practices and framework standards.
- Develop automated validation for infotainment UI components, features, and user workflows.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing for infotainment applications.
- Implement synchronization mechanisms and stability checks to ensure reliable test execution.
- Capture, manage, and attach test evidence (screenshots, logs, reports) for defect analysis and traceability.
- Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
- Validate UI behavior, visibility, states, and interactions across different infotainment configurations.
- Support simulation and validation of feature restrictions, driving modes, and vehicle state-dependent behaviors.
- Contribute to test framework enhancements, reusable utilities, and automation best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, test planning, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Technical Skills
Kotlin Programming
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin language and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Experience using descriptive test methods with backtick syntax for improved readability.
- Example: the comfort button is shown()
- Proficiency with Kotlin scope functions (with, apply, let, run, also) for clean and maintainable test code.
- Understanding of lambdas and higher-order functions for implementing waits, callbacks, and state validation.
Test Automation Frameworks
- Hands-on experience with Appium-based UI automation testing.
- Experience working with custom test framework annotations such as @Step for structured execution and reporting.
- Strong understanding of assertion frameworks and validation methods (assertTrue, assertEquals, etc.).
- Experience in generating test reports and attaching screenshots as evidence for each execution step.
- Knowledge of automation framework design patterns and reusable test components.
UI and Application Testing
- Experience validating UI elements for visibility, state, existence, and behavior.
- Ability to perform automated user interactions such as clicks, selections, navigation, and gesture-based actions.
- Experience working with application intents and state initialization mechanisms.
- Knowledge of synchronization techniques such as idle checks, waits, and event-based validations to improve test stability.
- Strong understanding of debugging automation failures and UI behavior issues.
Automotive/Infotainment Domain
- Experience testing automotive infotainment systems, HMI applications, or connected vehicle platforms.
- Understanding of driving profile configurations and feature availability based on vehicle states.
- Experience working with project-specific enums, constants, and configuration parameters.
- Familiarity with simulating restrictions, feature availability conditions, and vehicle state changes during testing.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Android-based infotainment systems and Automotive OS platforms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
