Job Summary

The Senior Test Specialist in Network Security is responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing comprehensive testing strategies with a focus on network security within cloud environments. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the integrity and security of systems and applications by leading testing efforts, mentoring junior team members, and advocating for best practices across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Catalyst SD-WAN Security Operations, including leading or participating in security architecture and design review meetings.
This role develops and executes software security controls, defenses, and countermeasures that align with cloud security best practices and comply with Cisco’s internal requirements, as well as external standards and regulations.
This role performs security assessments that include vulnerability and risk assessments, threat analysis, and security code reviews to identify potential design and implementation vulnerabilities. 
This role provides security software engineering recommendations and assists in resolving integration and testing issues.
This role works with multiple clouds and collaborates with various teams, including engineering operations, to secure controllers and services for Catalyst SD-WAN.
This role determines and implements appropriate security hardening, including for software, infrastructure, and build environments. 
This role defines product security and compliance requirements and tracks performance metrics while driving continuous improvement of our security posture through effective monitoring, control implementation, and collaborative automation of reporting processes.
This role actively monitors our environments to detect and mitigate security risks, respond to incidents, manage vulnerabilities, lead risk analysis, and ensure maximum global SecOps efficiency.

Skill Requirements

Clear expertise with the cloud platform services of AWS, Azure, and GCP
Demonstrable understanding of authentication protocols, authorization standards and crypto primitives
Expertise with SD-WAN technology
Strong expertise with security and privacy operations, common industry best operating, developing, deployment, virtualization, IaC, and SD-WAN practices
Strong skills with VS Code, Codex, Git, Python, Ansible, Jenkins 

Other Requirements

Privacy standards across security control frameworks to include ISMAP, NIST and ISO.
