Senior Tester

Job Summary

Skilled Senior Automation Test Engineer with strong experience in Manual Testing, Automation Testing (API & Web Applications), and hands-on expertise in Selenium with Java. Additional exposure to Cypress is a plus. Should be capable of leading a small team (2–3 members) while also contributing individually within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Quality AssuranceDesign, develop, and execute manual and automation test cases for web and API applications.Build and maintain automated test suites using Selenium (Java) and frameworks such as TestNG/JUnit.Develop automation scripts for REST APIs using tools like REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests.Perform regression, functional, integration, smoke, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Team LeadershipGuide and mentor a small testing team of 2–3 members, ensuring quality delivery.Review test cases, scripts, and overall test coverage of team members.Support team in troubleshooting issues and optimizing testing processes.

Agile & SDLC ParticipationActively participate in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, grooming, and retrospectives.Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure requirement clarity.Ensure adherence to SDLC processes, quality standards, and documentation best practices.

Skill Requirements

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience in software testing.Strong proficiency in Manual Testing (UI, API, functional, regression).
  • Solid experience in Automation Testing using:
    • Selenium WebDriver with Java
    • TestNG/JUnit
    • Automation frameworks (Hybrid, POM, data-driven)
  • Experience in API Testing using tools like REST Assured, Postman, or similar.
  • Exposure to Cypress automation (good to have).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage and mentor a small team.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Other Requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.Familiarity with cloud-based test execution platforms (Sauce Labs, BrowserStack).
