Job Summary

Test Engineer External Advisor - Test Data Management SME

We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer External Advisor with strong Test Data Management expertise to support technical assessments, data flow analysis, and future-state solution recommendations. The role will focus on understanding application and data dependencies, evaluating test data challenges, and providing technical recommendations to support roadmap development.

The successful candidate will work across SAP, Mainframe, and distributed application environments to assess data consistency challenges and identify capabilities required for an enterprise-scale Test Data Management framework

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess application landscapes, integrations, and test data dependencies.
  • Analyze data flows across SAP, Mainframe, and connected systems.
  • Review current testing practices and identify test data-related constraints.
  • Define test data requirements and quality criteria.
  • Support evaluation of TDM technology options and capability gaps.
  • Provide recommendations on data provisioning, masking, subsetting, and synthetic data approaches.
  • Contribute to future-state architecture and roadmap planning.
  • Support identification of MVP features and technical priorities.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and Test Managers.
  • Produce technical assessment findings and recommendations.

Skill Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong Software Testing and Quality Engineering experience.
  • Good understanding of Test Data Management concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with SAP, Mainframe, or complex integrated enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of data lifecycle, data quality, and data dependency analysis.
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
  • Experience reviewing test scenarios and defining test data requirements.
  • Technical assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication capabilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Hands-on exposure to Delphix, Informatica TDM, IBM Optim, Broadcom CA TDM, SAP TDMS, or similar solutions.
  • Understanding of data masking, subsetting, and synthetic data generation.
  • Test automation experience.
  • Insurance or Financial Services experience.
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration technologies and APIs.

Other Requirements

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of Software Testing or Quality Engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise transformation initiatives.

ISTQB certification preferred
