Job Summary

Our Client is seeking a hands-on Battery HW Test Engineer to support battery hardware validation, electrical testing, troubleshooting, and test development activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in an EE laboratory environment, setting up and executing electrical test benches, independently debugging hardware problems, and using industry-standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.

This is a lab-focused engineering role requiring strong ownership, troubleshooting skills, and practical experience rather than software development expertise. Python or scripting knowledge is beneficial but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute battery and electrical hardware validation tests
  • Generate accurate test reports and summarize validation results
  • Build and operate complex EE test bench setups
  • Perform root cause analysis and debug hardware issues independently
  • Troubleshoot lab equipment and test setup issues
  • Develop and execute validation test procedures
  • Analyze test data and communicate technical findings
  • Support investigations and failure analysis activities
  • Review schematics and designs to assess testability
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to drive issue resolution

 

Skill Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

 

Electrical Engineering Test Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on EE test bench setup experience
  • Experience working in electrical hardware validation labs
  • Ability to independently execute and troubleshoot test activities

Hardware Debugging

  • Proven experience debugging electronics issues independently
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to diagnose hardware, instrumentation, and test setup issues

EE Lab Equipment

Hands-on experience with:

  • Oscilloscopes
  • Digital multimeters (DMM)
  • DC power supplies
  • Data loggers
  • Electronic measurement and validation equipment

Electronics Knowledge

  • Power Electronics
  • DC Power Systems
  • Analog Electronics
  • Digital Electronics
  • Electrical troubleshooting

Documentation & Analysis

  • Test report generation
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Technical documentation
  • Validation reporting 

 

Other Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Battery testing experience
  • Battery cell or pack validation
  • Battery hardware development support
  • Application Engineering experience
  • Automated Test Equipment (ATE) exposure
  • Instrumentation control software experience
  • Data acquisition systems experience
  • Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or scripting knowledge
  • Schematic review and debug experience
  • BMU (Battery Management Unit) familiarity

Minimum Salary (US):  59000

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
