Role Summary

Storage & Backup Support Engineer is responsible for managing enterprise storage infrastructure and ensuring reliable data backup, recovery, and protection mechanisms aligned with business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.

Storage Administration & Operations

Manage and administer enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS/Object Storage)

Perform provisioning of storage resources (LUNs, volumes, shares) and access management [HCL - Serv...ces 011226 | Word]

Monitor storage performance, usage, and capacity trends for optimization [HCL - Serv...ces 011226 | Word].

Backup & Restore Management

Perform data backup and restore operations as per defined policies and standards [Exhibit 2....e Services | Word]

Manage:

Backup scheduling and execution

Backup job monitoring and failure resolution

Execute restores at File / Folder level VM / System level Handle backup using: Tape / virtual tape / snapshots / replication technologies [Exhibit 2....e Services | Word]. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Support DR readiness and execution aligned with RTO/RPO requirements [MSMA007 HC...PG 5-7-26) | Word] Assist in DR drills and ensure recovery procedures are validated Ensure alignment with IT Service Continuity and Business Continuity plans [MSMA007 HC...PG 5-7-26) | Word].

Monitoring & Incident Management Monitor storage and backup systems for alerts and failures Investigate backup failures and storage issues, perform RCA Provide timely resolution to incidents while ensuring SLA adherence [HCL - Serv...ces 011226 | Word]. Performance & Capacity Management Analyze storage growth trends and plan capacity expansion Optimize storage performance and efficiency through tuning activities [HCL - Serv...ces 011226 | Word] Provide reports on storage utilization and backup health\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\n6.
