Job Summary

Key Responsibilities Cloud Cost Governance & Optimization Own cloud cost management for Azure (primary) and AWS (if applicable) environments. Drive cost optimization initiatives including rightsizing, reserved instances/savings plans, storage optimization, and idle resource cleanup. Establish cost allocation models using subscriptions, resource groups, tags, and cost centers. FinOps Framework & Controls Implement and govern FinOps best practices across cloud platforms. Define and enforce tagging standards, budget controls, and cost guardrails. Ensure adherence to enterprise financial, audit, and compliance requirements. Reporting & Transparency Build and maintain cloud cost dashboards and reports using Azure Cost Management, Power BI, or equivalent tools. Provide forecasting, variance analysis, and spend trend insights to leadership. Support program-level cost reviews, QBRs, and executive governance forums. Stakeholder & Program Engagement Act as the single point of contact for Cloud FinOps topics for delivery and program teams. Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Cloud Architects, and AppOps teams. Support BAFOs, SOW inputs, and cost modeling for new initiatives and expansions. Automation & Continuous Improvement Drive automation for cost controls and reporting using Azure Automation, PowerShell, APIs, or scripting. Identify opportunities to embed FinOps controls into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines. Continuously improve cost efficiency without impacting performance or availability. Required Skills & Experience Technical & FinOps Skills Strong hands-on experience with Azure Cost Management, budgets, alerts, and billing analysis. Solid understanding of Azure architecture, subscriptions, networking, storage, and compute services. Experience with tagging strategies, chargeback/showback models, and forecasting. Knowledge of cloud pricing models and licensing constructs. Leadership & Communication Proven experience leading FinOps initiatives in enterprise cloud environments. Strong communication skills to explain cost drivers and optimization strategies to non-technical stakeholders. Experience working with global delivery teams and finance stakeholders. Experience 8–12 years of overall IT experience with 3+ years in Cloud FinOps / Cloud Cost Management Lead roles. Experience supporting large-scale, multi-subscription enterprise cloud environments is mandatory. Exposure to regulated or large enterprise programs (Healthcare / Manufacturing preferred). Good to Have FinOps Certified Practitioner / Professional. Azure certifications (Administrator / Architect). Experience integrating FinOps with ITSM, SRE, or DevOps practices.
