Job Description: Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and CMDB Developer

Position Overview

The Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and CMDB Developer is responsible for the continuous support, development, and optimization of the ServiceNow platform, with an emphasis on Hardware Asset Management, the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and associated request forms. Working within a managed services framework, this role ensures the delivery of robust technical solutions and ongoing support to maintain seamless business operations.

Experience – 8 years intensive experience of HAM & CMDB development support.

Certifications – CSA (must have), Preferred: CAD and HAM Certified.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support for ServiceNow applications related to Hardware Asset Management, CMDB, and request forms.
  • Knowledge of CMDB classes and data upload manually or via integrations
  • Should have experience working in SerivceNow Discovery and Service Mapping
  • Configure and extend CI classes, attributes, and inheritance. Ensure correct use of base tables vs extended classes
  • Respond to enhancement requests and implement improvements to address evolving business needs.
  • Offer configuration expertise, including customizing screens, administering workflows, setting up reports, importing data, and integrating software.
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of the ServiceNow platform across all environments.
  • Develop and manage update sets to transfer customizations between different ServiceNow instances.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather, refine, and document requirements and workflows.
  • Analyse system logs and troubleshoot platform issues efficiently.
  • Maintain and enhance JavaScript code (server-side and client-side) to support business objectives.
  • Design and update workflows to accommodate changing customer requirements.
  • Create, update, and decommission library entries and system integrations as needed.
  • Develop and manage access control rules (ACLs), business rules, UI policies, and related configurations.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and homepages tailored for stakeholders.
  • Manage and support the hardware catalogue to ensure accurate and up-to-date asset information.
  • Ability to translate technical CMDB concepts into clear, understandable documentation
  • Should have hands on experience on Integration Hub and flow designer
  • Should be able to update and configure workspace related views and dashboards
  • Knowledge of Now Assist and AI related solutions in ServiceNow
