Job Summary
The Automation Engineer will design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions that reduce manual effort, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen service reliability. The role will focus on building scripts, workflows, and orchestration pipelines across infrastructure, network, cloud, and operational toolsets.\r\nThe engineer will support the design and operation of automation capabilities using platforms such as Ansible Automation Platform, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, APIs, and CI/CD toolchains. The role includes standardizing provisioning, configuration, security enforcement, monitoring, alerting, reporting, and operational tasks across the enterprise environment.\r\n
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain automation scripts, playbooks, runbooks, and workflows for infrastructure, network, cloud, and operational processes.\r\n• Build API-driven and template-based automation solutions to improve consistency, repeatability, and auditability of operations.\r\n• Automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, compliance checks, monitoring enablement, alerting, reporting, and remediation tasks.\r\n• Develop and maintain automation pipelines using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Git, and CI/CD platforms.\r\n• Integrate automation workflows with ITSM and operational platforms such as ServiceNow, monitoring tools, logging platforms, and cloud management systems.\r\n• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cloud, security, and operations teams to identify automation opportunities and convert manual processes into reusable automation assets.\r\n• Ensure automation solutions follow security, governance, change management, version control, and documentation standards.\r\n• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of automation jobs, scripts, integrations, and orchestration workflows.\r\n• Create technical documentation, standard operating procedures, deployment guides, and knowledge articles for automation solutions.\r\n• Track automation effectiveness through metrics such as effort reduction, execution success rate, incident reduction, compliance improvement, and cycle-time reduction.\r\n
Skill Requirements
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting and orchestration technologies.\r\n• Strong understanding of infrastructure, network, cloud, and IT operations processes.\r\n• Experience with API-based integrations, REST APIs, JSON, YAML, and automation templates.\r\n• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and standard branching, review, and release practices.\r\n• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.\r\n• Understanding of configuration management, idempotent automation, reusable modules, and error handling.\r\n• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.\r\n• Ability to automate monitoring, alerting, compliance validation, reporting, and operational remediation activities.\r\n• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and change, incident, request, and problem management processes.\r\n• Knowledge of security best practices, secrets management, access controls, audit logging, and compliance requirements.\r\n
Other Requirements
• Reusable automation scripts, playbooks, modules, and templates.\r\n• Documented automation workflows and standard operating procedures.\r\n• Integrated automation pipelines for provisioning, configuration, monitoring, reporting, and remediation.\r\n• Automation dashboards, execution reports, and operational efficiency metrics.\r\n• Improved operational consistency, reduced manual effort, and lower risk of configuration errors.\r\n
