Job Summary

L2+ -level 

 

IT professional with 7 + years of experience and a mix of technical and process skills. 

• Strong knowledge in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 

• Strong knowledge in RHEL 6/7/8/9 Linux administration, performance tuning and support experience 

• Good knowledge with configuring Red Hat Satellite, Kickstart servers, Identity Management 

• Good knowledge of hardware of blade server, Dell and ProLiant server  

• Experience with RedHat Ansible configuration management tool 

• Good knowledge in Vmware and Virtualization product 

• Perform OS upgrades and patch installations 

Key Responsibilities

Knowledge Shell scripting (bash/ksh, PERL, Python) 

• Strong knowledge of DR and recovery of OS. 

• Networking troubleshooting ability 

• Strong understanding of Logical volume manager. 

• Strong understanding of patching and upgrade of OS 

• Understanding of Yum and RPM and how to create application repositories and synchronization of application repos 

Skill Requirements

Knowledge / use of security and password management software (selinux, ossec, sssd, LDAP, Kerberos) 

• Good knowledge Linux/Unix/Solaris Administration and troubleshooting skills including: Job control, soft and hard links, distinctions between the kernel and the shell, shell scripting 

• Ability to provision bare metal installs, configure, operate and maintain systems 

• knowledge with ESXi including capacity planning, advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting, and performance management 

• Knowledge of Networking fundamentals, Storage technologies, and Cluster fundamentals. 

• Knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Shell (BASH or ZSH) 

• Knowledge of Hypervisors (VMWare, KVM/oVirt). 

• understanding with Symantec NetBackup. VMware NetBackup implementation experience a plus 

• Experience with monitoring tools such as BMC Patrol, Tivoli Monitoring 

Other Requirements

Working with an enterprise wide, large scale matrix environment 

• Ability to plan and prioritize work and meet project deadlines 

• Must be self-motivated and work well with other groups 

• Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required
