Job Summary

The Senior Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, monitoring, and optimization of Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). The role ensures the availability, performance, security, scalability, and reliability of cloud environments supporting business-critical applications and services.

The incumbent manages Azure virtual machines, networking, storage, security controls, containerized workloads, and Kubernetes clusters while driving cloud governance, automation, and operational excellence. The Senior Administrator collaborates with cross-functional teams including application, security, DevOps, and architecture teams to implement cloud best practices, troubleshoot complex issues, and support digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer Microsoft Azure IaaS resources including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, Availability Sets, Availability Zones, and Storage Accounts.
  • Deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters and containerized applications.
  • Implement cloud security controls including Azure RBAC, Azure Policy, NSGs, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and identity management through Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
  • Perform infrastructure monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and incident management.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks using Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM/Bicep templates, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions using Azure-native services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, container, and platform-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security, governance, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments.
  • Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.
