Job Description – Lead Windows Engineer Role Overview The Lead Windows Engineer is responsible for driving the technical delivery, coordination, and governance of Windows engineering activities within the Digital Workplace environment. This role acts as a key interface between engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring seamless build alignment, backlog execution, and lab environment stability Key Responsibilities 1. Co ordination & Delivery Management • Lead and manage coordination across engineering, suppliers, and stakeholders • Breakdown high-level requirements into actionable development backlog items • Assign and track development activities across teams • Ensure all requirements are sufficiently detailed and technically actionable • Monitor and report backlog status, risks, and delivery progress • Coordinate end-to-end development and build activities across streams • Ensure alignment of all builds with architectural and platform standards • Act as the primary technical contact for suppliers and external partners 2. Development & Engineering • Own technical delivery of core Windows builds and Wintel platform engineering • Drive implementation of Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and endpoint strategies • Ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable Windows build configurations • Collaborate with architecture, product, and operations teams to ensure end-to-end delivery excellence • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams • Support continuous improvement and modernization initiatives. Development Environment / Lab Management • Manage and maintain lab environments across Hardened Compute, Data Integration Platform, and Remote Backup • Oversee: o User access management o VM provisioning and lifecycle o Patch management and compliance • Ensure availability, stability, and security of lab platforms • Act as the technical escalation point for: o Development teams o Suppliers o Lab users . Supplier & External Interface • Serve as technical point of contact for suppliers (e.g., Siemens, Capula) • Manage supplier-delivered builds and integration activities • Ensure supplier deliverables align with platform standards and timelines • Facilitate technical discussions, issue resolution, and escalation management . Operations & Governance • Ensure build governance, compliance, and quality standards • Support incident resolution and escalations in Wintel platforms • Maintain documentation: o Build standards o SOPs o Lab environment processes • Contribute to transition of solutions to operations using ITIL best practices ,Technical Skills & Experience • Strong expertise in: o Windows OS (Windows 10/11) o Wintel platform engineering o Active Directory & Group Policy o SCCM / Intune / Endpoint Management o Virtualization & VM management • Experience with: o Lab / test environment setup and governance o OS build engineering and deployment o Patch management and security compliance • Knowledge of: o Azure / Cloud integration o Automation (PowerShell preferred) o Modern Workplace technologies Leadership & Soft Skills • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and suppliers • Excellent communication and reporting capability • Proven ability to drive delivery in Agile/DevOps environments • Strong problem-solving and escalation handling skills Nice-to-Have • Experience working in regulated environments. • Exposure to Hardened environments / secure platforms • Vendor management experience across multiple partner
